History

Education Travel Group was formed in 2008 as a result of a number of mergers and acquisitions of leading companies within the educational adventure and tours market.

The Group is owned by DLJ Merchant Banking, a division of Credit Suisse, a world leading financial services company.

Key dates in the Group’s history include:

1933   School Travel Service (STS) founded
1980   Camp Beaumont founded
1985   Camp Beaumont launched Kingswood Educational Activity Centres
1998   SkiPlan founded
1999   Merger of STS and SkiPlan to form School Travel Group (STG)
2005   STG Travel acquires Equity Travel
2006   STG Travel acquires Pavilion Tours
2007   STG Travel acquires UK Connection and Kuoni Schools
2007   STG Travel acquires Neilson Schools
2008   Merger of Kingswood and STG Travel to form Education and Adventure Travel Group
2008   Group acquired by DLJ Merchant Banking
2008   Education Travel Group launched
